UK house prices fall again in August finds Nationwide

House prices fell for the second month in a row in August, according to the Nationwide building society.
Prices fell 0.9% last month, following a 0.5% decline in July, Nationwide said, adding that it was the first time that prices had fallen for two consecutive months since February 2009.

The annual rate of house price increases reached its highest level since November 2007, official data shows.

Property prices rose by 9.7% year-on-year in March the 12th consecutive month of annual price rises, the Department for Communities said.

UK home repossessions down by 7.5%

The number of homes repossessed in the UK fell by 7.5% in the first three months of 2010, according to lenders.

Figures show that the number of homes repossessed dropped from 10,600 in the last three months of 2009 to 9,800 in the first quarter of 2010.
